The young gardening apprentice and I managed a blissful escape for several days to a refuge without roads, cars, irrigation lines or shovels. We paddled the Main Lake chain on Quadra Island to refresh ourselves and take a well deserved break from the daily grind of farm start-up (as fascinating as it can be).
We appreciate the opportunities to escape to magical places and remind ourselves of how incredibly fortunate we are. Now we’re re-energized and ready to tackle some late summer projects. The first being an electric fence project for the new sheep arriving later this week so that they don’t have a great escape of their own…
